Also, if the enemy has a unit protecting a non-objective off to the side and you move past, they could retake an objective city behind you, which would kill any chance of a brilliant victory. Other flag locations (cities or otherwise) are worth prestige points, so good to take if you have someone to spare. They are worth more prestige and once you have them all you fiish the scenario. If you find enemy troops that have been sitting in the same spot all game, you'll have a devil of a time beating them unless you pound them hard with artillery and aircraft first.Ĭlick to expand. You only need to take the cities with thick borders around the flags, those are objectives. After the other side was softened up (and if I was lucky, out of ammo) I could send in my veteran troops to take them out.Īlso, the longer infantry units stay in the same square, the better their defense becomes (called 'entrenchment' in the game). Those that don't get annihilated would stay in position to block the enemy unit's retreat. Then I'd send them against a tough target one after another from different sides. I think the best advice thus far on this thread is Jeffrey Moore's line " If you attack a single enemy multiple times in one turn, they get easier and easier." I haven't played in years, but I remember buying a whole mess of the fastest cheap units I could get. I'll send it to you if you are willing to pay shipping. If you really want it, send me a private message.
#PANZER GENERAL II MANUAL#
I have a manual at home, which I don't need. It's a little vague, sorry about that, been a while since I last played. The bomber comes in to take out my artillery and bam, my fighters clean up. I often use this for artillery with a fighter right beside it. This means if you place a juicy target barely within LOS and then support out of LOS but in range, you can rip them apart. Not remarkably relevant in this scenario since the enemy is almost always on the defensive, but something to remember later on: The AI decides its moves based on what it can actually see (it's not omnipotent like alot of strategy games). Soften up the enemy with artillery and air support, use the spanish as expendibles, then march your own troops over them easy as you please. You've got these Spanish with you, and who better to die for their country? If you attack a single enemy multiple times in one turn, they get easier and easier. In fact, after you get thru, you'll have a few cities to claim before worrying about enemies. It'll be raiing toward the end of this scenario, but the bomber will provide a very important early punch to get you thru the initial line of defense. The enemy has no air support, so you'll fly unthreatened (do not think this remains true for the next scenario).

Just keep troops in front of it because the enemy targets artillery before anything else. Speaking of artillery, it rips up infantry. Use artillery and air support to soften the target first. Infantry is needed for taking cities, but it'll be messy on both sides. You'll mainly be using your tanks in this scenario to decrease enemy entrenchment and smack down artillery if you can get to it. Tanks clean up on unfortified enemies in open terrain, but early era tanks, well, suck. It's important to remember the following things:
